Jennifer J. Richardson collection on Camp Glisson, 1946-1997.

This collection consists of materials assembled by Jennifer J. Richardson while researching "Holy Dirt," her book on Camp Glisson. Series 1 consists of files maintained by the manager of Camp Glisson on cabin owners from 1949-1990. These files contain mostly correspondence regarding the ownership and upkeep of cabins at Glisson. Series 2 contains research materials generated by Richardson, primarily notes from interviews with individuals on their involvement with Camp Glisson, conducted in the mid-1990s. The miscellaneous files in Series 3 include information on grounds fees (1965-1968) and loans (1951-1955) related to the camp. The bulk of the collection consists of photographic images. For preservation reasons, negatives are stored separately from photographic prints. Series 4 contains over 1800 photographs from Camp Glisson. Many of these photographs are unidentified. The majority are group photographs of Glisson campers. Negatives, which are stored separately from the photographic prints for preservation reasons, are found in series 5. Series 6 contains color slides of Camp Glisson people and events from the 1960s through the 1990s.
